Lawrence holds his BA degree in theater arts from Brown University. He received his MFA in writing from UCLA’s Department of Film, Theater, and TV — graduating Summa Cum Laude and with Departmental Honors. He has had five feature screenplays optioned, and he has received several awards for his writing — in all mediums. His award-winning feature "Intensive Care" is now far along in the packaging process - with very well known actors and director already attached. He's recently completed a children's novel and also a new, high-concept, one-hour dramatic TV pilot. His most recent screenplay "The Last Bombshell" has placed highly in 13 competitions, winning one. As of 2025, it's been optioned by a producer and director.
In addition to being an accomplished screenwriter and produced playwright, he is also a professional pianist and songwriter, as well as a trained actor. He has been hired for many independent writing and rewriting jobs. Plus, he has extensive experience as a script analyst (for two prestigious, Beverly Hills talent and literary agencies, and also working in development for two film studios). Lawrence has taught writing, acting, and English literature — on the high school and college levels.
Originally from Washington, DC, he currently lives in Los Angeles.
Lawrence is represented by his agent Michael Pio, at Innovative Artists.
